Welcome to Wahoo Division SS-238 Sea Cadets
The Wahoo Division cadets meet (drill) one weekend per month at Navy Operational Support Center in Avoca, PA (map).
Our cadets are instructed by U. S. Navy Reservist in subjects such as basic seamanship, military drill, and leadership.
The Naval Sea Cadet Corps is for American youth ages 11-17 who have a desire to learn about the Military. Sea Cadets are authorized by the Secretary of the Navy to wear Navy uniforms appropriately marked with the Sea Cadet Corps insignia. The objectives of the Sea Cadet program are to introduce youth to naval life, to develop in them a sense of pride, patriotism, courage, and self-reliance, and to maintain an environment free of drugs and gangs.
If a cadet does choose the Armed Services they frequently will have earned early advancement if all the requirements are met in the Sea Cadets. In the US Navy and Coast Guard (E-3 after boot camp). The other branches may give an advanced paygrade of E-2.
